Future Updates
For updates, I organize the work as follows: The website is structured into "Builds" (abbreviated as "B"). Each Build consists of 10 main features, meaning that every new functionality counts as a sub-build. For instance, B2.1 will introduce one feature, B2.2 another, and so on until 10 new functionalities are implemented—at which point a new Build begins. This system, which considers only added functionalities (excluding bug fixes), helps maintain a controlled development pace. You can view the changelogs here.
Current Version: B2
B3:
FEATURES:
- Improve the login design, add registration, beta key, and enforce nicknames to be lowercase. (for B2.1)
- Implement a feature to report posts along with all corresponding moderation tools (for B2.2)
- Settings Section with two options for now: "Account", where you’ll be able to log out or delete your account; and "About", which will display various project-related options(for B2.3)
- Implement a repost feature along with its unique characteristics (for B2.4)
- Ensure that clicking the Post button displays a "post-box" in the center of the screen at all times (for B2.5)
- Allow users to pin one of their own posts at the top of their profile (with an indication that it has been pinned) (for B2.6)
- Updates to the User Menu (Right-Nav): (for B2.7)
- Desktop Version:
- Redesign the right navigation to be divided into two sections: "Followed Posters" and "All Posters". Additionally, add a search textarea at the top to find other Posters.
- Implement real-time detection of online users, displaying a small green circle next to their name (visible only for users you follow).
- Organize the list by prioritizing online users.
- When clicking on a user, display a pop-up with key information (avatar, name, biography, and, in the future, a Popularity Award system) instead of redirecting directly to their profile. This pop-up will include View Profile and Send Message buttons.
- Mobile Version:
- Perform a comprehensive redesign of components and text, incorporating the improvements described for the desktop version.
- Desktop Version:
- Complete redesign of the profile page (for B2.8)
- Introduce an award system within user profiles (for B2.9)
- Allow users to post using a "Voice Post" mode (for B3)
B4:
FEATURES:
- New Section in the Profile (not yet defined B3.X)
Below the main profile panel, add a tab with four selectable sections:- Posts: Display all posts by the user (text and images) along with a total post count.
- Multimedia: Exclusively showcase posts containing images, GIFs, and, in the future, videos.
- Reviews: A section where other users can leave a single review for the profile. The profile owner will have the option to keep or delete each review.
- Likes: A list of posts that the user has liked.
- Homepage Display Modes (not yet defined B3.X)
Implement two modes:- Everyone: Display posts from all users, as currently implemented.
- Popular: Sort posts based on interactions (likes, reposts, comments) accumulated since the beginning of the month.
- At the end of each month, a Popularity Award will be granted to the user whose post generated the most interactions (e.g., "July's Most Popular").
- The award will be represented by a badge or medal visible on both the user's profile and the right-nav mini menu, with the nickname highlighted in a distinctive color.
- The awards will remain on the user's profile over time.
- Video support (requires upgrading to a better hosting service) (not yet defined B3.X)
- A system that tallies the total interactions (likes, reposts, comments) for each post and displays this count in the bottom right corner (not yet defined B3.X)
- Develop a direct messaging system once the design, iconography, and functionalities have been finalized, due to its high complexity and the need for extensive testing (not yet defined B3.X)
- Enable customization options for each profile—including background color, post background, and text color—with three personalization settings. In the future, at least three different font types will also be available (for B3.X)
- Theme-Based Algorithm System(for B3.X)
This list is completely open to suggestions and ideas. All ideas are welcome and will be considered. If you have any suggestions or if there's something you'd like to see added, please send them to our email: postersweb@gmail.com.
